Just had my renewal through from Houghtons....£693 !!!! second car limted mileage. It cost me £480 to insure my 350Z full comp for every day use!

 

Need to ' Negotiate ' but Any other ideas?

shop around mate. its a pain in the arse but you can always find a better deal. i knocked £700 off my renewal by spending a few hours on the phone (worth it in the long run!)

I just had a quote on there and it was £180 more than I pay now. A-plan has always been the best for me £300 a year :D

If its pretty much standard car, do a search for Carole Nash, they are more known for bike insurance, but when I first got my car ins was 280 FC incl breakdown cover with them.

lol im only paying 200 for fully comp,but i another named driver a lady friend which lowers it also if u have use of another car lowers it and so does working as a public services ;)

public servant i ment, eg: nurse , carer , police officer lol

Car is insured now, with every mod declared, listed with 500hp (although not there yet), 6k miles p/year, gauranteed valued at 20k and last year cost 780 pounds, which I dont think is too bad. Thats with Livingstones Warman. Could of got it cheaper with A-plan, but they would only insure it as market value, so didnt see the point in taking that risk.

thanks for the reply barry. im with the same insurers as you at the moment & due for renewal shortly. im going to be doing the same as you, when everything is done im looking at hopefully 500+ and going to want an agreed value as well, but will only want 3k max mileage per year.

My renewal from Houghtons rocketed but they found me a cheaper quote from Norwich Union :hyper: :hyper:

I use Academy insurance when I was shopping for quotes they were by far the cheapest. Beat all the others by loads. Give em a call.
