My 300 is rather on the laggy side which i kinda expected.

i currently have the specialty Z super splits

But they now also make these expansion down pipes

and i also found these which look awesome ultimate splite downpipes

Remembering i already have the super splits in the first pic, these are original Speciality Z ones and not ebay copies, would i notice much difference going up to the other ones? basicly will they be worth getting??

you mean the ones in the pic below ?. cant tell you anything till mines been done and gone on the rolling road to be set up.

I think Greg Dupree have the history/integrity of being at the cutting edge of 300zx development, why don't you ring them up and ask each one?

Have we got a contact for Greg Dupree? or are they known as Speciality Z?

I have the Mike Smith Manifolds.

Yeap they are the newer ones of my down pipes but the last link is their latest ones and meant to be their ultimate design.

the 3" downpipes will give an improvement over the super splits. However, if you have that much lag and you've already got the MSP manifolds then you'll probably find your turbo's are not a good match for our engines. Do you have any more details on them?

PS fitting your diff with the leader gears will help too, but in turn will make your traction issues worse...

The turbos are custom built by turbo technics.

They are a T28/T3 hybrid.

I considered the leader gears solution but i have a Quaife Diff which still isn't fitted, the leader gears would fit inside this wouldn't they? but would they fit with the Quaife design cogs? I don't really understand how all this works.

Maybe i should sell the Quaife and fit the Leader gears to my current stock Diff.

I don't know what to do but as it stands i'm not happy with it as the power kicks it really late and when it does kick in it kicks in so hard the revs go up stupid fast and i bugger up the gear change as i can't change quick enough. i get minced from a stand still, once i hit boost i catch up but then it's usually too late as they then start backing off thinking they one :(

on a roll in the right rev range i can mince most things.

It's so bad something don't seem right.

as per your other thread post the dyno so we can see the power curve.

leader gears and quaife should work together, but if you're thinking of selling the quaife I want first dibs!

more details on the turbo please, a hybrid could mean anything.

Are the wastegates being controlled by the AEM or an external boost controller? Setup of the boost map / settings can have a huge effect on the way the turbos spool up.

You'd expect them to be laggy but maybe not as bad as you describe, also, are the wastegates setup properly (ie adjusted to open at the correct pressure?)

Ok i will post up the Dyno sheet when i get home.

I don't know much about the turbos. I know they are not ball bearing and that the larger housing is a T3 and the smaller housing with the turbine in is a T28 and they have built in wastegate.

I have a Greddy boost controll which controlls my boost.

I'm not sure if they are as the mapper may not of interfered with the wastegates on the turbos but i do remember that they a adjustable bit on top.

You might find that increasing the gain on the controller will improve the response. Problem is if it has been mapped as it is then you may need to re-map if you play with it. If you end up with the boost coming up quicker then you may lean out in the mid-range depending on whether MAF/MAP?TPS is used for load sensing.
