Hey Folks,

I'm new to the South Central area.

Was living in Wales until a few months ago, then I moved to Calne!

Since moving here I have had endless problems with the car, thought a full service might cure it but alas has made it worse!!

I'm very much a novice when it comes to engines and wondered if anyone on here who lives around or about the Chippenham, Swindon area could help me figure out what is wrong with the car before I decide how I want to progress with it! More than willing to pay for fuel and can make a mean cuppa tea :)

Please help if you can! :)

Dave.

Hey Fella,

I took the car into the garage for a simple plugs, fluids and filters change. I had a slight misfire on the left side and I asked if they could check to see what was causing it. Besides that the car was running fine (well it uses a litte water but i have no idea where it's going). When i went to collect it they told me that the back left spark plug wasnt getting wet and suspected that it might be a faulty / dirty injector. Now the car is doesnt seem to be running as responsive as it did, sounds like a spluttering yank V8 and has developed a bit of a shake! Could simply changing the plugs have caused all this? possibly unmasking an underlying problem? I've been through the engine bay checking for lose connections and the like but as I said before i'm a novice when it comes to engines!

I have the car booked into the bodyshop for some work but cant see the point in continuing if theres serious problems under the bonnet!

Cheers,

Dave.

have you checked the ptu connections , they can get dirty , also is it a series 1 ptu , if it is it might b that causing the misfire , or try swapping a coilpack from a known good cylinder ie number 1 and put that on the cylinder that is playing up , if its still no better then its either a ptu fault , wiring loom fault or poss injector

Cheers for the advice fella's

As far as I know its a series 1 PTU.

The garage said that they swapped the coilpacks around but the fault was always with the same injector

I will take another look at the weekend for dirt on the connectors.

Might have to spend even more money on the car! :)
