Where can I purchase the rebuild kits fr the zed turbo's, I emailed Melett, but all they did was advise against doing it.

Featured Replies

Just phone them up. I've ordered quite a few times now. They advise against it so they cover their own arses basically.

If they ask you over the phone about balancing, just tell them you will take it somewhere afterwards (weather you do or not).

Cool

What price will I be looking at for the rebuild kits and stepped rings

hi guys how sucessful was it fitting them yourself like if anyone has done it how many miles did you get out of them are they still going ect,i have pull damaged ones apart to see how they tick grin but never rebuilt with new bits, ive got all the tools and know my way around an engine and have one 300 with both turbos needing doing and the one one the road have the left leaking, alsocan the turbos be replaced without taking the engine out but never had a go ive took them off an engine on the ground and that was a pain getting to some of the nuts near the block if the engine does have to come out i would be conserned with fitting new seals and them not lasting very long rgds jon

The kit you need depends on whether you need a minor or major kit, and whether your turbo has short (7.67mm) or long (9.37mm) journal bearings. The major kit includes retaining ring, shim, thrust collar and O rings.

Minor kit - £36.00 each

Major kit - £51.00 each

Piston - £14.09 each

As I don't have the turbo's out yet are the bearings standard sizes ?, do I order long or short bearing kit ?

part numbers:

1100-020-750 Minor service kit T2/T25 short brg, Dynamic seal

1100-025-162 Step gap piston ring

Thanks again, almost getting excited about pulling the engine out now :D

  • 1 year later...
cant remember off hand, around the £20 to £30 mark

20 to 30 quid is that for the whole kit? What advise would you give someone who is doing there own rebuild on the turbos?

I am hoping to do most the work on an engine rebuild and hesitant on tub rebuild but would like to tackle it! How would i get it balanced etc? If you help us out, I will do a write up if you like?

I belive there is a writeup on how to do it on here already ;) if not i have a copy of the original document i made somewhere :)
