Just catching up on checking out what new cars are available after seeing a Volvo C30, looked quite nice!! The specs are good, 0-60 in 6.2 secs.

Does anyone else think that the world has gone mad when a Volvo has better specs than a 300ZX TT (stock)!!!!

I guess thats the price you pay when you own a 15 year old car! Not to worry.

I'll get my coat!

better specs ? Faster 0-60 than an NA yeh, but not a TT

Average tested TT 0-60 is 5.6 seconds, and Car and Driver magazine recorded a 5.0 sec 0-60 in 1991 with a stock TT Manual SWB

I have looked at the web site with the official figures on and they are significantly higher than 6.2 seconds, for both models?

Then I stand corrected Legrath ;) As you obviously know your figures can you tell me the N/A's as well?

Cheers bud!

What site is that? I wouldn't trust their figures after seeing that a TT 0-60 is well over 6.2 seconds. . .

Unless of course they had used mine for the test

There isn't so many NA 0-60 tests about, but high 6secs to low 7secs seems typical.

A TT with a 1 bar boost increase with Chip, Exhaust and Filter will easily give a 0-60 under 5 secs, and a 0-100 in under 12 secs (standard is about 14 secs).

also - Even although a TT will do mid 5secs 0-60 in standard form, 0-60 is'nt its best test and will be quicker in the mid range and top speed than most other cars capable of similar 0-60 times.

Exactly!

0-100mph is a better comparison as it can also show how good "overtaking" ability might be; say 40-100.

Any car with a 0-100 of below 20 seconds is reasonable; below 15 is pretty damn quick! Note that the 0-100 time for a 3000gt (UK spec, stock twin turbo) was just over 16, compared to 14 for a 300zx. Their 0-60 times are fairly close so that proves Legrath's point........ ;)

Richard :D

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
