Yeah, ive pretty much planned my road trip in '09 with it in conjunction with M'soft Autoroute.

My zed is too recent to be on it, but i can see my FireBlade outside my house.

Areas tend to vary, depends on when last set of photos were taken and when they get normalised and merged in to the image library by Google. So anything for a couple of months to a number of years.

mine must be summer last year (as the pool is out in the back garden) :D

I agree, one of the best freebies on the internet.

My area (SN2 2RJ) has been recently updated and now shows my Zed and Mondeo on the drive. The routing facility is also pretty impressive...I now use it to find my way to all meets and it has the feature of being able to automatically 'fly' above and along the route at what speed you like which gives a good idea of how good the route is.

I also find it fascinating to re-visit in detail parts of world I was lucky enough to go to before I retired. It brings back many happy memories.

I'm certainly very impressed with Google Earth and wonder how long they will give free access.

I found that in my area microsoft live shows more areas and detail, although as is google earth in our area about 3 yrs old!

The way they update seems odd. Last time I looked on on google earth at my area about 6 months ago, the image was over 4 years old.......but now its been updated, but its around 2 years old now.

Would have thought once updated you could would get a recent picture, not one thats a bit newer but still several years old.

Hi,

Just had a look at the Microsoft version and the overhead picture is about 8 years old, but if I switch to bird's eye view it's in the last 2 years!?

Google earth was also about 8 years out of date, until recently for my area.

My old black Z31 which I sold in 2000 to buy a Z32, could still be seen parked outside of where I worked at the time!

I think it is also about 2 years out of date now though!

My area (SN2 2RJ) has been recently updated and now shows my Zed and Mondeo on the drive.

Hi Dave,

Is it your latest car or the one you sold to me?

Cheerz,

Jez

Hi Jez - It's my latest Zed, the one I had just bought when you collected my first one about 18 months ago. The guy who bought that one off you around Christmas time phoned me a few weeks ago to confirm the info you had given him and check out some history.........he seemed a nice guy and we chatted for about an hour!!!! (Well, he was a wrinkly like me.....it seems these Zeds seem to attract the more 'mature' guy   )

Cheers - Dave
