Cusco Diff

Anyone know much about Cusco Diff's for the Z32 ?

I have the option of getting hold of one. Its 2nd hand, in a NA rear subframe setup so Im guessing its based on a NA R200 Diff....which is exactly what I want (less weight, and NA ratios)

What i need to know though is what Ratio its likely to be...I want the NA 4.08 ratio...is that what it will definatly be or did Cusco do its own Ratios, or did they do Custom ratios ?

Dont want to fit if its going to be using TT ratios

also...what type of LSD is it 1.5/2 way... mechanical, viscous..etc ?

Cheers

Will probably have used the standard NA ring although I believe cusco did make alternatives for the R230.

They're all plate diffs. I've got the 2 way in mine, 1.5 was also available.

The 2 way to be honest is a bit harsh for road use, locks up quite badly on decelerration so you have to be really careful matching revs on downshifts.

Thanks John. I guess Im only really going to know by Taking it apart.

What about the improvements, is it worth it ?

It is good for traction and responds much quicker than the viscous so you don't get that sort of slow 'tank-slapper' that the visc sometimes gives you when the wheels spin up a little. On the downside though it's noisey, clunkey and pretty aggressive. Tears up the tyres a bit too on the edges when it locks wheels at low speed.

I did have a tomei machanical clutch pack diff for a na but didnt bother fitting it because of the hassle of swapping to na subframe and fitting toe arms ,na driveshafts .na hubs and people on here said the na shafts wernt strong enough for a tt. I know you have to change oil regualry on machincal diffs.
