OS Geiken twin plate is a nice clutch and would cope with you cars power out put and at £800 ish it come complete with flywheel and recon kits are easy to get hold of. Only down sides are it's heavier than standard , but so are the other 2 and it needs a real good drag strip start every 300 miles to clear all the dust and crap out to stop it being notchy. (having used the street max in Eggy's car and all puck clutches are on or off and awefull for town driving and often produce clutch judder)

For about £1200 you can get the Exedy carbon carbon alloy. This takes a day to get used to because it has a very light feel. (perhaps too light) Once you are used to it it is a smooth as butter and garenteed upto 750 RWHP. I'm told from everything I read that the RPS carbon carbon is the dogs danglies and that it has more feel than the Exedy, but I've never driven a car with it so I can't say for sure but its peputation goes before it.

i've not really got any money so carbon carbon is way over my budget

i already have a aly flywheel so was thinking about the max street basically because its cheapest - i'm running 520 ft lb at the mo and the clamping figures are as follows

max street 550 ft lb

max puck 625 ft lb

OS Geiken twin 720 ft lb

I have driven a couple of RPS carbons carbons, and have to admit they are fantastic. I am not sure whether a twin would take your bhp bud?

no no no no i cant afford carbon carbon - you bad people :smash:

Second hand triple or twin OS giken then, but I will warn you the triple is Harsh :)

Yep I drove one of dave customers Supras with a OS Giken Triple and it wasn't a nice experience.

Sell your flywheel and a kidney and get the Carbon carbon either the RPS or the EXedy. You know it makes sense.

"Little devil sits on shoulder smiling"

I have the OS giken twin plate and I am happy with it.

It is a little bit "on or off" and can be a little bit of a pain around town.

It can also give a little bit of judder occasionally, but you learn to live with it.

The worst thing about it is there is a rattling noise when you depress the clutch. I believe this is the spare middle plate spinning. It sounds a little like the clutch is falling apart! lol.

Anyway, if you can't afford the carbon -carbon then go for the OS Giken, it is a really good clutch.

You need to have a real drag strip type start. Loads of revs and ride the knackers off the clutch. It won't kill it. It'll just clean all shit off the plates and fire all the loose dust out. It will work like a new clutch after for about 300 miles Then you'll need to do it again.

Trust me it really does work.

OK, sounds a little daunting but I will give it a go!

Don't tel hime that. He hasn't had it back long since trying to drag it round a roundabout.

ONly joking Mike. Can I be there when you do it?

Sorry know nothing about clutches so can't help with the thread.
