doing paintballing at Centre parcs on 29th. can someone recommend tactics :) my first time and i over heard my wife and friends talking about ganging up on me and opening fire...... don't want to run like away..... want to be brave.....! but i know this is gonna hurt :( My wife will go the extreme and shoot at me in the nuts :rolleyes:

Play Sneeky and do the lying in wait routine. Then hit and run. Only thing you can do if your totally out numbered.

Stay down, keep calm. spot your enemies, and don't linger in one place for too long.. should be actual missions to the games rather than just combat , capture the flag etc!!

 

Its good fun, although i've always been an airsoft person instead!!!

 

ok will try...... im going to aim for my buddy who has just got into the police..... that will cheer me up ^^ maybe i can persuade my mrs to join in.....

i hope they have trees? for some reason i have a strange urge to climb up one with as much leaves as possble and shoot as they are under me/passing me

you wont be allowed to climb trees lol. if im defending i always try and hide as far away from the objective as possible, wait 10mins for the attackers to move between you and the objective then shoot them in the back. Yes i am a coward!

done it a few times, wear several layers of clothes.

 

Playing during the winter is a pain, literally, the pellets become hard and dont always burst.

 

Also if you can lay your hands on the stuff divers use to stop there masks steaming up, get it and don't tell anyone. If you can see and they can't its so much easier to get the feckers.

 

Finnally have fun, you'll come away wondering how you have managed to get through life without doing it up till now.

I've run paintball sites for years and played all over the country at most of the biggest games in the UK. Don't get caught up a tree, you'll have nowhere to go and as pointed out most sites won't let you climb anyway.

 

Wear a few baggy layers. If you can get the ball to bounce, not only will it not hurt but you won't be counted as out the game. Cover your hands and your neck. Some sites will provide gloves and neck protectors but don't take any chances. If you get shot in the hand or the neck up close it's going to hurt.

 

As for tactics, as many have said, keep calm, stay in good cover, let your enemy come to you and then light him up once he's within range or even better as he moves past you and away =) Aim for hard areas, chest, back, hands, mask, gun...anywhere you will get a burst (some sites do not allow headshots). Once you've hit people and they're walking out, relocate. Don't get caught out when he tells one of his mates, where you are, on the way out. Finally if you do have to move or close on a target dont be afraid to waste a few paintballs hitting objects that the enemy are hiding behind. A good volley onto a barrell will keep a guys head down whilst you move. If you can hit it on the move, even better. Site paintball guns mixed with casual players are not usually the most accurate of things so don't be afraid to get up and move around quickly between cover. If you're moving across the line of fire, chances are you'll be ok =)

ive played about 6 or 7 times. its a great laugh. nothing much to add to the advice above. deffo get the stuff to stop your mask steaming up as a 'leak' around your eyes can completely ruin the game for you as you wont be able to see a chuffin thing! i got hit in the temple once at close range, my god did it hurt and bruised up like a lightbulb! luckily no long-lasting effects though :wack: :wack: :wack:
