i use normal unleaded on a regular basis but i do fill up with super once every now and then and mine seems to be runnin fine

Welcome to the joys and pain of being a Zed owner!

As far as I know, 97 is ok. But if you use 95 the car can go into safety boost as detonation occurs. I recommend Shell V Power or failing that BP Ultimate, which has 98 RON.

You could always get the ecu remapped to run on 95 RON. I recommend you getting either of the two as they're good quality fuels and a 300 is a well timed machine, so you don't wanna put any old crap in it.

That's cos yours is a UK spec. The Jap spec was designed to run on 100 RON.

Excuse me if I'm presuming, is it a UK spec?

Sorry my mistake, just saw your signature and it's def a Jap. I get probs when I put 95 in mine. Never used it since.

Standard UK cars are designed to run on 95ron.

JDM & chipped cars require higher octane, so super unleadded at the least, V-Power or Tesco 99 are even better.

I use V-Power in both of mine. If I put 95 in because I couldn't find a shell garage i have to put the boost down on the red one and the black one detts a little bit (no boost controller so have to drive on 1/2 - 3/4 throttle max). There is a difference.

Rob.

i always use std unleaded, no problems at all in 3 years

I use super all the time. Try to use shell when I can.

Have a look at the ink on the bottom of my sig to find where to get it near you.

Cheers

Darrell

I used to use Shell's v-power until i realised that i was costing me a tenner to get to the shell garage and a tenner to get home again!

So i found a Tesco's garage 12 miles away and started using that. Bonus! Its about 3p a litre cheaper and higher RON!!!

Funny that I was under the impression your cars gave you a lot of trouble.

You also realise that using V-Power or 99 Ron will increase the miles you get per gallon and therefore it is actually slightly cheeper per mile than 95 octane.

Mine hates 95, puts it into safety boost, mind you thats because its chipped. I use super unleaded then no probs at all :)
