Dammaged my bumper in September and been waiting for teh council to gt back to me about a claim. Fooking great pot holes caused the bumper to come off. today I get a letter saying they have viewed teh area, and although they will be repairing it (the road) they wont be paying for teh car dammage.

cant afford a lawyer for £600 bill, but they are paying for it the cnuts.

Thats just wrong. I know a family member of mine got a claim paid off due a shite pot hole actually blowing a tyre. I think they made the point of it being a safty hazard. Try doing an emergency stop on a craply laid road if someone steps in front of you.

they dont deny the road needs repair, they just wont pay for teh dammage to the car.

Can you go through your insurance against them? even if just see where you stand legally

not without loosing my no claims.

there is a thought. ill look into it see if we have ti

not without loosing my no claims.

You won't loose your no claims if it goes against them at court. It probably wouldn't even go that far if your insurance sent them a letter ....ask them it won't hurt

wish i had, when my front bumper was ripped off from driving through what appeared a small flood, under a bridge (well turned out it was a bit deeper than it appeared, it was well actually raw sewerage :hurl: :hurl: and no sign to warn you, there was unfortunately no other option than to risk it, as turning around was not possible) i never pursued it as i thought "whats the point" however i wish i had now.

It needs more people to stand up to them or they will always win, i pay my water rates and council tax and if it ever happens again, money depending ill take it as far as i can, because they are quick to take money but not to give it back :nono: imagine if i failed to pay my council tax, telling me they wouldn't take it as far as they could?

A quick letter/ email to the local press could possibly outline how inept the council are, worth a try for the sake of a stamp/ email?

gona ring the fella 1st thing, hes gona have me as his forst person ona monday, then im gona ring the insurance comapanies and take them to teh cleaners. I need the bloody car on the road as I have to get to schools

cheers vijay. I reported teh pothole 2 years ago, it got worse its not the width of the drive and 4" deep.
