Righty-ho, not sure if anyone remembers/cares, but a few years ago when I had my old Rays/Volk wheels, one centre cap was missing. Managed to find one on the Japanese yahoo auctions and got a Japanese chap in the US who runs wheelchoice.com to bid and send it over to me.

Well, I've asked for his help again in getting hold of the double DIN centre console for the Z32 meaning I can fit a true twin-DIN headunit.

Fingers crossed this will work. Z32-Zone don't ship internationally, but wheelchoice send things internally in Japan before shipping them overseas. Unfortunately, the part is £120!! But I think it adds a nice finishing touch to the interior. Updating it without looking too aftermarket.

Looking at buying this. Currently have a JVC 2 DIN setup which looks quite old and of course, it's JDM, so no RDS on the HU and it has a tape player!!

Good man. I think they look great. True twin DIN HUs look really nice and add some quality to the interior.

I am considering also getting the 99-spec illuminated window switches, but I think MJP could supply those as they are not aftermarket. We'll see.

i am wanting to fit a screen tho. i like the idea of a complete multimedia suite in the z. ideal at a show or something when your bored of wandering around.

I had thought about that. Touch screen thing with USB ports or something. I like the uncluttered look it gives. Reason why I have no gauges and pods stuck everywhere. Kinda makes it more sleek and easy to the eye with the twin-DIN set up over the two DIN stack.

Cool, had a response from Joji already. $260 plus shipping which won't be much on that as it's lightweight and small. :)

Here's my touch screen effort, its not finished but once its sprayed should look ok and its cheap. :D

Looks good guys... nice piece of kit there to Si... Alpine all the way..

Fingers crossed this will work. Z32-Zone don't ship internationally,

Can this double din console not be brought from nissan parts dept then.

ROTFL  er  Nissan Parts department, you mean ones over here

I think it will look great but if your looking to update the dash by buying an expensive surround i really think that you should get a touch screen head unit, will look bang up to date, not in your face with silver knobs everywhere and jet black when switched off ??

I do like the touchscreen ones, but don't want something overly complicated. Want something that's kinda visible when switched off. I'm not going for a huge ICE install as it is, just direct replacement speakers, decent headunit,. dynamat everything when the interior comes out this week and a small sub in the boot.

It's either the Alpine one above or a Kenwood DPX. The thing I like about this is that it has whitey blue illumination similar to the illumination of the current controls. It's also black and will blend in nicely with the colour of the surround. The Apline one is my favourite though.

I prefer Alpine for looks. Couldn't comment on there prformance , but i've had 3 Kenwood head units and they have all been fantastic!

Dynamat will make a hell of a difference. There was a thread a short time ago with a sub that fitted under the seat ? that would work well if you don't want any speakers seen ?

i want a double din fascia for this , nice and simple and unclutered

ive been in touch with 3 or 4 suppliers just wating on response , i will post up when i have the cost and time estimate

Well, it's arrived in the UK, not bad going considering I only ordered it towards the beginning of last week. It then had to go to a holding place in Japan before being shipped onto me. Pretty speedy to be honest! Pretty harmless, but quite expensive doing it, but I'll get some more stuff sent over I think. :)

Wonder how much I'll get stung for tax/duty!

Si; where are the finished install pics?

At the end of the list! LOL I have loads to do at the moment. I'm gutting the current system, running new cabling, sound deadening, not to mention retrimming the interior. Gonna be a few weeks before something's back in there!

Shame you can't see any text on that site. It's all in Jap!

Run it through google translator.

Could you post some internet links about worlwide sellers of double DIN surrounding replacing the OEM one ?

Only ones available are for RHD cars AFAIK. Better off getting your original modified.

Someone could tell me why this part would be for RHD car only ?

Is it a problem with the overall shape of the vents at the back ?

Could someone post some big size pics of the front and back of the double DIN cluster ?

The panels are a slightly different shape between LHD and RHD. They curve round to one side. If you take the panel off, turn it round and draw round it with a pencil onto a piece of paper, you'll see what I mean. The clock also appears in a different position.
