I'm finally going to fit my AMS radiator at the weekend and was thinking of converting from the Spitfire prop to an electric fan. What sort of Cfm will i need to keep the Zed cool? I'm thinking also about running without the rad cowl as i have no under tray and have a vented carbon bonnet.

Also will i need an expansion bottle ? I've been looking at this-

Had a few bits off them and they have always been quality.

Your thoughts please :D

Ive just fitted this Radiator last week mate and its bloody good quality.. and BIG :). Just to let you know i had to trim down both of the "locating pins/legs" at the bottom of the radiator to get it in, unless your putting in the rad from underneith. Sorry I cant help with the electric fan or expansion bottle im affraid, just thought id put my 2p's worth in :D.

I saw you fit the rad last week and was going to PM you to see how it went but i can't cos youre not registered :headvswal

I'm very impresed with the rad though much better quality than the Koyo, and it is big aswell. :D

Sorry mate, I need to re-subscribe :).. Ive never seen the Koyo so cant really comment.

Yeah its very easy to fit, even for a novice like me.. Got a little worried at first as i saw afew pipes that were on the original radiator that wasnt on the new rad.. Checked underneith and those pipes were bunged up anyway so i have no idea what they was for. Altogether id say it took about 2 hours, But i like to take things steady and allow plenty of time and not to rush, Just make sure you have a file or saw handy to cut down those little legs at the bottom of the rad and it will slide straight down into the locating holes at the bottom :).

Regards

Rob

A 3000cfm fan setup would do the job.

I would suggest refitting undertray for Improved cooling !

I've been looking at fans half the size of that  I was going to fit it to a stat.

Switch on temp - approx 95degC

Switch off temp - approx 85degC

Plus a manual overide.

It's only for fast road not for track use (yet).

Do i need an expansion tank?

Zcentre now do a electric fan, it will be very similar to mine which i'm pleased with they also come with a shroud to get more air onto the rad.
