When my mates who are black or asian are late for work, we work nights in london, it is usually because they have been stoped for noo reason. Happened last Friday thinking about it because they said his music in his car was too loud.

 

Don't get me wrong, it is a good idea, but they need a better way of targeting people other than the way they seem to at the moment, and yes that does seem to be buy colour, as I think I have been stopped once in 16 years of driving into london at night. (touches wood for the rest of the week)

 

Just my opinion of course but I think they have enough powers as it is under anti social behaviour etc.

I can see the benefit of stop and search in theory but not when you have morons doing the stopping and searching! I got stopped 3times in as many weeks, in the SAME spot, by the SAME copper. And he knew exactly what he was doing - enough to joke that he'd 'see me next week, same place'!! All the whole claiming he was stopping every 20th person down the escalator! Only problem being I'd spot him from the top of the escalator with a good 20-30 people in front of me! Would see him pick my brown face out from the moment I stepped on! C*ck. Absolutely no respect earned whatsoever and if anything alienated me a fair bit...not a good thing to go alienating the 'good uns' in todays climate when they can't even deal with the 'wrong uns'!

Its completely untrue that we need a supervisors permission to stop and search people, thats complete and utter pony!

 

If your a decent cop, if someone needs searching the grounds will be there, you just got to ask the right questions. The only thing i completely agree with is cutting down on the paperwork thats involved in doing our job, which is making criminals lives as difficult as possible!

If you want the police to do their job then you have to give them the tools to do it with, ok we all have to deal with ****ers who are bad at their job and people think the police are not human, but unfortunately they are and some are shit and some are good!

 

I think the kids in london have a relaxed attitude to carrying knives/drugs and giving shit to the old bill, and I think this is massive factor to the deaths of teenageers that have taken place.

 

Ok you have been stopped by the old bill and your feeling were hurt, but kids/adults are getting killed out there and in some places the kids are ruling the streets.

 

What do you want safe streets for family to walk in, or your feelings hurt occasionaly, somehow I think you are more resiliant than that?

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for cracking down on the idiots going around killing each other etc...but there's a way to do it. The same can be said of pretty much anything - first take care of your own house, THEN go and deal with others. My meaning being that until the police can control the stop and search procedures and ensure it is used properly, relaxing the rules will only aggrevae the situation.

 

And I agree very much with Coopers-SWB as I am asian and get stopped all the time for absolutely nothing at all. All this talk about 'random' searches is rubbish half the time. How can others (usually non-ethnic) like Coopers be stopped once in 16 years whilst some are stopped on a regular basis. nothing random about that. If there were I'd have won the lottery a few times over as well!

 

I'm not griping about the police as clearly they are doing a good job, its the few bad apples that let the side down unfortunately.

The few police who are predjudice let down the majority who aren't (like in all walks of life I guess).

guys. some of you might be too old to remember, but we had this years ago, I got "S.U.S.ed" a few times, just because. It was crap then, and its gona be crap now because it targets too many inocent people, and in turn alianates them.

Personaly I thnk they should bring in anti social on the spot fines and make them £300 a pop. Using foul language or being abusive to a copper should be £1000 fine or month in the nick with Mr Big and his Latex friends. abusing a elderly person should be £3000 and 1 years community service at a place of the victims choice.

At the end of the day it dosen't matter what the police do. It is the justic system that needs changing. The police can nick as many people as they like for what ever crime but the fact of the matter is the people that commit these crimes are then not punished.

 

What is the point of giving the police more powers of arrest and then not locking the scum up.

 

That is the bit that really dosen't work.

 

Topless it is just an example of hoe biased the police can be when they are stopping cars, why would they be any different when they are stopping people.

Reality of the fact is, the prisons are over crowded and asbos dont mean shit these days........ as stated before, they need to sort out the punishment before they will start putting people off the crimes they commit......prisons are a jokes these days with people being released early and then left to commit further crimes......ill say it again......bring back capital punishment and watch how this country fixes up.....look at other countrys that have this policy and follow it strictly..... i used to work as a prison officer and i know for a fact it would work and it would deter the shit out of anyone who is even thinking of commiting a crime

The punishments are not proportionate to the crime anymore.

As for issues with black and asian people being singled out, this would be rectified if the force could manage to get more black and asians to join, to be honest i think that we need more law upholders from the ethnic minorities, this is a multicultural society and needs a multicultural force to ensure that the law is upheld, then no excuses from anyone.

 

As for the justice system it needs a total overhaul, and as for the young uns, allow smacking, and give schools the right to discipline offenders, if the child still offends, then the parents should be put to task, the parents would soon instill discipline then!!
