Half Turbo Boost

Drove car for most of day last week, switched off for a while and back on and only had about half turbo boost.

Switched car back off and all was ok!!.

Has anyone else had same probs.

The car is a 1990 Jap spec with no mods. Its been serviced and looked after both in Japan and England.

Someone called it Safety Boost. Why should this happen. Weather was hot and had been on motorway for a while, but its never happended before now.

Would appreciate some comments.

Matey,

i had this problem too, sometimes it would go into safety boost and sometimes it would not boost as high. After killing the ignition and turning it back on again it was fine!

Diagnosis came up 55 (ok) and we couldnt find anything wrong with it.

Seems fine after a JWT chip now though. Always get solid constant boost and havent had any problems since.

Was a wierd problem and really annoying but i asked LOADS of people and no-one could figure it out.

Perhaps ur car has had a boost upgrade using the standard chip which is what i put the problem down to on my car.

Hope u find the problem bud

Cheers
