Hi everyone,id like some advice please

I got a new exhaust a few months back,on full throttle it sounds great, but when i back off the throttle there is a strange rattling sound (videos below)

I know its not the cats as they are new,any advice would be great,im not sure whether an x or h pipe will fix this ??

the exhaust specs on the n/a are as follows

2.5 inch mandrel bent twin system

no headers

new high flow metalcat cats

2 new magnaflow mufflers

could it be a problem with the baffles rattling?

(cant watch the vid worls fire wall)

Just sounds like the exhaust to me, I had 3 sets on my mr2 and 2 sounded the same, i was also a bit gutted. Nature of the beast i think.

Posing with Brian Adams playing is so uncool lol!!!! (even tho i like his stuff :D )

Hi Fellar, great vids. After studying the sound in great depth I have diagnosed the problem. Its what we call over here a bad case of the "POM FART" zorst note.Nothing to worry about and I think your car sounds great Bud.Unfortunatley that particuler frequency does tend to make your hair fall out unless you wear a big bush hat lined with turkey foil. But you must have noticed that yourself.Keep the sound ,wear a big hat, sorted. :D

I'm sure his T shirt said DILIGAF. Which is relevant to the stage in life when you genuinely become cool.

I just recon it's a big farty sounding exhaust. Some are and some aint I'm afraid. Is it staight through divorced system or a cross flow. Just that the cross flow systems seem to be higher pitch than the straight through divorced systems. I'm sure there are people who would know how to change the pitch of the sound, but I couldn't. However the car looks very sweet though Blue.

its a straight through divorced system ,and there aint nothing wrong with bryan adams :nono: lol :p

Try the x flow centre section to lift the pitch and Brian Adams is sound mate.

P.S. does it say DILIGAF on ya Tshirt. If not why not?

I worked out what the crackling noise when i back off the throttle was

Is so happens when i put a pod filter on and pulled out all the old intake pipes,i forgot to block the holes on the pipes going to the throttle bodies

The noise was the car running rich due to sucking in extra air after the afm :wack:
