NOTHING! Yep the old girl went straight thru! I was really chuffed. It had a coupla advisories, mostly minor.

1) Front tyres wearing inner edges (tracking - not a prob)

2) Needs some rear pads soon (easy enuf)

3) High level stop lamp not working

4) Centre exhaust blow

5) Radiator leaking (biggest problem!)

Shes not rotted away anywhere either. Not bad for a K plate UK car!

As for the radiator... Its not dropping a lot but Im gonna have to replace it. Looking at it its prob the original rad so its not done bad in fairness. Can anyone advise me, is it worth getting a original spec rad or an uprated one?

And the exhaust I think I will replace too. I didnt know what make it was but after getting under the car on the ramps its a powerflow.

And the emissions, the part I wasn't looking forward too, no probs!

RESULTS CO: 0.00% !!!

HC: 2ppm vol

I'm told thats pretty good! Any advise on the rad be good. Cheers guys

Depend on your other mods / plans and budget

I have a jap tt rad that you can have for £40 delivered, same as uk (manual)

Uprated rads start around 200 quid but worth it if you are planning a lot of mods etc

i have a koyo which gave me around a 3c drop in temps, comes into effect more when booting it.

Mine is an auto, does that make a difference?

Im not planning massive mods, Im happy with how quick it goes for the time being. Its standard boost at the mo. Uprated rad worth it if u turn the boost up I take it?

Uprated rad is always worth it and a must if you are turning the boost up. The rear cylinders on a Z can get very hot and is the number one cause of cooling related damage.

The manual rad will work on an auto and even be an improvement.

But you will also need to add an oil cooler as the oil flows through the water rad on an auto.

Bear in mind you will need one for an uprated rad anyway, I might have an 8 row jap one kicking around somewhere.
