Hi Everyone

Lately there has been quite a few cars for sale and some with respect has had quite a lot of mods done to them. There is one forsale for £10,000 I think and had nearly £42,000 done to it.

Now I know there is a lot of things a person should look out for. From bodywork done to it and so on. But What about Engine mods? As I know what to look out for on a standard car such as mine but when you see a custom where do you start.

In most cases do you think its not just best to take a specialist with to check things over and insure things are done correctly?

Any advise would greatly be taken onboard!

Thanx again

Nico

If you intend spend a fair bit of cash on a modded 300 then I would say YES take some one with you that knows about these cars blue. And make sure you see some kind of service history and if the owner has them receipts for the mods carried out

if you're talking about Boomin33's car you should speak to the 2 companies mentioned in his post, they should give you a good idea.

As for engine work in general, you want to see a dyno showing a healthy AFR (approx 11:1 as soon as the turbos kick in and staying there until red line) and to prove the quoted figures.

Yip I was on about Boomin33.

He has a pretty sweet ride.

But the one Im after is on Piston Heads.

Now the car has low milege but may have too low for a car thats 18 years old.

Have a look guys and tell me what you think. Really want to see paperwork for the work done but the car looks like its been well looked after.

Cheers

That car is not heavily engine modded and the claimed power figures are very tongue in cheek. It does not mention anywhere about higher flow injectors so the power will be more like 370.Ask the guy for a dyno sheet and i bet she or hes "lost it" which is the usual reply  .

HAHA should have known the owner would be on the forum too.

Thanx for the advice guys. Looks like a really nice car and well looked after.

Just odd that she wouldnt advertise it on the forum itself but rather on pistonheads?

Anyway will find out soon.
