Hi guys

My car is currently at bodywork plus have a custom bodykit fitted. engine performance about 450 bhp. plan on fitting 19" 3 piece trafficstar wheels.

Due to increased performance and size of wheels, standard brakes will look lost. i originally planned on fitting Hi-spec motorsport monster 6 360mm Diameter brakes on front and 330mm on rear. But, at the bodyshop there is another car being moded, which already has hi-spec brakes on. The guys at the bodyshop said they are poor quality!

That under hard braking the calipers open, and feel soft. they said i should fit AP.

Can anyone tell me if they have any experience with Hi-spec brakes. The kit is going to cost about £2200. I don't want to waste me money.

I have also seen K-sport - don't know what they are like.

Brembro - are too expensive.

AP - look ok

Your input would be appreciated.

Regards

Kev

theres some fronts and back R33's on the gtr club at the moment for sale which will more than be up for it.

if you want bigger brakes then i would go for greddy, AP (but just the calipers as the discs are crap) Stoptech or if the budget if lower then the k sports etc

To be honest i think a full GTR setup with a quality set of disc pads and braided hoses is more that enough for a fast road/slight track use. Anything more is wasted money IMHO.

They are new to the market, from a budget manufacturer - so you'll get mixed and reserved opinions but they have been getting good reviews.

Hi guys

Decide to get a price for AP 14" brake set. they come with mintex extreme high performance pads. i know people say mintex pads are really good. but would the extreme be to hard for fast road, etc. Car is running about 450bhp at fly. plan on future pushing 500 rwhp.

Or would i be better going for Ferodo DS2500.

Thanks for any advice.

Kev

Personally i would go with the DS2500 mate, i run these pads and a few others do too, can be somewhat dusty but theireperformance on the street with litte track use is bob on ;) the next ones up are very dusty and wear out much quicker and the ones down from the 2500 don't seem to do a great deal imo.

Also look at KAD, i run the 355mm skyline kit on my Zed, cost was around 1.5k with al that you need and a colour choice of bells and calipers (6 pot)
