I'm going to steal the idea ;)

Nice one, your car's come a long way in the last year or so!

Thanks :D

Hey T1mmytt, :D I opened the bonnet of my breaker at the weekend and found half your tool kit there, two screw drivers and a pair of long nose pliers, would you like me to post them on to you.

Oh bugger lol, i wondered where those long nose plyers had gone to..

Yes please if you could :D let me know how much the postage is..... What a right plonker..

  • Author
fook me......when did you do all that to your car?? I must have missed something lol, looks awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When you wearnt looking :D

  • 3 weeks later...

I actually can't believe that this car isn't finished, the spec is insane!! And it has real presence on the road, you can immediately tell it has power :D. Can't wait to see the finished work!

Jimmy - did you remove/refit your plenum yourself young man?

And was the engine in or out?

I want to get mine polished or painted and I can't wait until my Turbo's/injectors break lol ;-)

Any heads-up appreciated - I have read the blurb elsewhere - just wanted a real persons perspective!

I had the engine rebuilt, so everything was removed, i took things home and had my way with them.

However it can be removed with enginre in just takes time removing pipes here and there.

exceed, it hasn't enough power yet, Its simply running very rich on stock turbos at 15psi it has all the necessary mods to fit bigger tubs which im saving up for,,, VERY SOON..... its stripped of quite a bit of weight which helps all aspects of performance. braking, cornering acceleration etc

Edited by j1mmytt

Ah okay thats why then :). Do you know what sort of power you're putting out now? That was crazy fast for 15psi!

Mines modded quite ridiculously as well lol:

- Polycarbonate windows

- All unnecessary weight removed (aircon, spare wheel, lightweight battery, even engine cover!) - seats all kept!

- Hybrid uprated turbo

- Prototype intake system (with cold air feed to be added soon)

- 324mm 4 pot brakes at the front

- Straight through exhaust system with cat removed

- HUUUGE intercooler

- Remapped (getting a custom map soon as its a generic map only meant for 200bhp/300ishftlb of torque should see around 250bhp/400ftlb with new map)

- Uprated suspension and RARB

- LSD soon...

Still looking at a more racing oriented exhaust system as the one I have on is more kitted out for the noise rather than power (haha that stupid screaming noise!).

Next time I see you it'll be a completely different outcome I promise ;), going to keep my eye on your project mate and best of luck!

well its only kicking out 390flywheel hp and 316 wheel hp 340 torque at the wheel not the fly. there is alot of difference from wheel to fly.

My next big mod is those turbos, which should see me past the 400 rear wheel horse power which is over 500bhp at the fly. So ya better have something special :D lol

Didnt realise you had done that much to it by the looks of it, Kinda like a sleeper :D i like it, keep it up. I still have to figure out ways to loose weight, this big heavy chassis is letting it all down :(

post some pics of the astra on this page mate.

Sorry for the late reply been away lol. That'll be ****ing impressive to see once you're nearer to 500bhp! Yeah I was always going for the stealth look :), noone ever expects any challenge from it :D. Think I've reached the limits with this engine though without going into silly money (new manifold = nearly £10k :o apparenty....!!) so if anything you'll have a challenge from my next car (Audi S3 hopefully :)). Keep up the good work mate :D!

I already have lightweight pulleys matey - thanks though. ;-)

lol think he meant me haha

andy i havent done the switch yet but im sure it wont be hard.

  • Author
yeap :D

Don't think they would be suitable for your spec anyway.

why?

how much u selling for?

To be honest, that's why i've not really pushed the sale of it and not bumped the add.

As i wouldnt want it going to a forum member. If anyone was to show interest in it i would first explain to them why not to go for one.

Might just bung it on ebay, sell it to a guy with 800bhp from some stickers and a dump valve :P
