It's probably a bi-colour LED. But I wouldn't rule out it just being a 2xneg / 2xpos package...

I would imagine it's something technical.

It's not two brightnesses of LED in one package, is it? (If it's designed to do the same job as a standard tail bulb with a 21W and 5W filament for brake & tail light)

I guess it's just an LED that hasn't learnt how to walk upright yet ;)

you wouldnt be trying out my idea of led rear lights in 99 spec lights would you vijay???

So is twin cathode/anode just a fancy name for 2 postives and 2 negatives?? What's the point?

 

No way mate, don't think I'd have the patience to solder that many LED's ;)
