I recently bought a leather handbrake gaitor from ebay and really pleased with how it looks, italian leather, nice and soft and smells great.

 

Just on the offchance, i phoned the guy for a centre console armrest cover, he did them but needed a template for the z32 lid, so i sent him mine and he has done it for free, as he needed a template.

 

Its double stitched and looks the biz, its up on ebay now if anyone is interested, really cheap.... dont be put off by the low price tho, it is top quality. :cool:

Bargain that. I've retrimmed a few myself, but never 100% happy with result. That looks like good quality.

I sent it off to new malden, i think that is where his designer is but i got it virtually next day.

 

And i agree i tried retrimming it with black suede to match the other panels ive done but getting the corners right was a bit of a bind, so i thought i would go for leather to match the seats.

It is great quality

thats great, any chance you could send off your door cards and get him to make up leather for that, in fact send the full interior panels to him and get him to make a leather kit for the Z

One step ahead of you there, Ive already asked the question, just waiting for the response, I did say there would be a lot of interest so hopefully, get a good price for a large order.

Under the armrest there is a plate that screws onto the underside.

 

You can just remove this, pull the leather around it. Duck tape the underside to hold it in place. Then make holes where the screws will need to go to fit the underplate back on. Then screw it back in place. Best way to make the holes is with a soldering iron -- ooh the smell of burning flesh - love it !!!. By burning the holes you will also prevent spliiting and fraying a little more as well.

 

 

erm don't use solder though, no need for that ;)

Is there a difference in centre console size to the 2+2 and swb? i thought they would be the same, as the centre console ends at the same point, i could be wrong tho, i will measure mine when i get it back tommorrow.

Thanks, it's definitly great to be driving the Z again! Happy I did the work myself, if I took it to a shop I probably would have been waiting for months... Plus I fixed a lot of little things I noticed while crawling around under it.

 

As for the console cover, they are definitly different, SWB one is just a bit shorter. I bought a leather assembly off a member here and had to modify it to fit.

Yep, SWB armrest is shorter and hinges differently.

I have the hand brake and gear gatiors and they are really good quality :)

It is for the 2+2, the pic is of mine lol,

I have just spoken to the guy and if someone is prepared to send the console lid for the swb, he will do it for you free of charge to use as a template.

 

Im sending him some pics of all the interior panels that can be covered and he has someone going around to his with a zed for him to look at. He is based in New Malden and not southampton as it states in the ebay add.

I think someone from here who lives nearby is taking his motor for a measure up.
