Heater matrix

The previous owner of my z replaced the heater matrix.

The climate control only comes out hot is it possible that he did something wrong when replacing the matrix?

i checked the sensors under the steering and they seem fine.

but there are some blue connectors coming out the air/con ecu could this be the prob?

If any connectors are not connected then that would point to your problem ;)

The aircon ECU should have 3 blue connectors plugged into it. (1 long, 2 smaller, from memory)

trust me i know my way around the aircon ecu andy will tell ya that ;) but i couldnt where the wires coming out of the aircon plug into (the little blue ones)

the ones that leave the ECU go to the sensors in various parts of the ducting under the dash

  • Author

yeah them ones are connected under the dash on the ducting but there are other ones that are not connected and i duno where they go..... maybe the passenger side?

but not of your donkey's cock  ;)

1.first picture is of the loose connectors coming from the aircon ecu.

2.second pic is of some connectors coming from somewhere near the fuse box. think they might be something to do with the antenna or radio.

3. third pic is of a box i found in the arm rest compartment when i bought the car, i have no idea where it goes or what it is.

4. fourth pic is of someone i work with.

2. Looks like Turbo timer (or boost controller) Ignition harness

3. Thats the Buzzer/Chimer that sits behind the Speedo thats been removed

4.

I'd say they were from a aftermarket turbo timer or aftermarket boost controller that was once fitted, but removed before you got it.

ah i see.

but them wires were not originally there, they were behind the dash but i puled them out when i delimited the speedo.

Yeh, I would of expected that to be behind the panel under the steering wheel.

Could well be for the mode doors, near the aircon ECU on the side of the heater box

sorry but where and what are mode doors?

  • Author

dear lord there are far too many electrical thingamyjigs on this car.

The mode doors change the routing of the hot/cold air through the system. Where, read my posts lol ;)

Looking at the link I posted it looks more like the airmix door motor connectors...

  • Author

You may have something here..... propbably is the mixture motors not mixing cold with hot to make not so hot or cold air.

in that link its left hand drive so would it just be the opposite?

No AFAIK they are the same whether LHD or RHD :)
