Speak to Funky Si, he has got one of the best fitting double din installs ive seen in ages.

This is as far as i got with mine before selling the car

Cutting out the centre bar will allow a double DIN to fit, but it wont look perfect becuase you'll be left with the edges to the centre bar still on show.

You can fibreglass and fill those to improve it, or you with the one from japan above.

Funkysi does'nt have a double din install

Must have been a pic that he had, was sure it was his car tho.

I will admit something tho, when i bought the car, the centre section of the console had been cut out before i bought it, probably in japan, and it was a complete mess. So i basically did what i could with what i had and no budget (coz it all went on engine rebuilds!)

I did get it to look better, i think id just taken the head out to sort some wiring issues and it didnt sit right when putting back in. I managed to get it sitting further into the console so it looked a bit more flush. But yeah, with a bit of time and fibreglass, i could have finished it quiet nicely.

Oh well, maybe on the next one

This is the well known setup in my old zed, although its not actually double DIN, its a 7" Touchscreen VGA Monitor that I fabricated into the Centre console. It was connected to a Carputer(mini in-car PC).

The work required to get a Double din to fit neatly would'nt be as extensive

Hi bud, i tried to PM you but your inbox is full, just wondered if the facia for your touch screen was bought specially or did you modify it yourself? I have 2 facias ones a single the others a double din but it has the sticky out bits in the middle (you can see the bits i mean in the pic nickz32 posted, either side of the screen in the middle).

Just wanted to know if you did it yourself how did you manage it.

Cheers,

S.
