Agreed, you will loose lots of knuckle flesh, if you smoke you will do a packet of 20 easy. If you have a pavement outside your house it most certainly will get hit the odd time with a very large hammer. (mine is fooked, looks like crazy paving)

Seriously look at taking the engine out, lot less hassle, plus you can do other stuff while its out.

Yep 13mm. Took me 2 1/2 hours last time to remove L/H turbo in situ ;)

lol, thanks for that chaps. I know it will be easier with the engine out, but dont have the means to do that at present, plus I am away at sea at the moment so got a chance to fabricate lots of funky spanners to make the job easier if it can be made easier ofcourse. The plenum is off at the mo, so access is a little easier, its the inboard side of that bloody flange that was giving me the headache. anyways back in the uk next week so will see how it goes, oh and if infact i do end up with crazy paving all over the shop, cheers again.

LOL dont even go there. If you've got to do both tubs, take the engine out. Will be easier in the long run because you can do a plenum water bypass, get rid of EGR crap etc etc while the engine is out.
