Thinking of sticking my Zed into the Auctions tomorrow...

anyone any guesses at how much they make at auctions?

Featured Replies

anything can happen tbh. auctions are very unpredictable. if you do go ahead, make sure you put a reserve on it, plus allow for their fee as well.

Yep, dont risk it without reserve. Most car auction buyers are dealers there to buy nearly new cars, and anything older will often get ignored...but occasionally something interesting will get attention.

You will be wasting your time and money as there is an entry fee and of course a selling fee which is a percentage of the selling value. Any vehicle that is put into a bonafide traders car auction by a private seller will be treated with suspicion, i.e., why are you not selling from an ad in the local paper,.........they will then assume that there is something wrong with it and either want it very cheap, or not be interested at all. Another problem you may encounter is that at some auctions, vehicles over 10 years old are sold without a reserve. Good luck.

Cheers Guys!!

So I'll just reduce it and sell it privately :)

---------it should sell at £1750-------- shouldn't it?

I was allowed to put it in with a reserve :) - but it didn't make it suprisingly :slap:

why not try it on ebay with a reserve. at least that way it wont cost you as much as a car auction in fees, plus you get the chance to put a complete description unlike a car auction. ;)

It's been in today Mario......what an interesting experience it was indeed :)

and the result was ? as in what it reached.

£825

thought as much. thats the problem with car auctions. 97% are car dealers who are after newer cars with cheaper insurance, tax, economy, which is what the majority of buyers are after. high power sports cars and juice gobblers are not normally on the list, its a specialist auction that they go in. if you get my drift :D

£825

£825? I'd have drained out all the fooking petrol to let it go for that little amount :D

Thank god you set a reserve!
