For me it would have to be a full re-trim, with the dash,

as you can have so many positions with the seats (bolsters etc) plus it will look more special then just sticking some seats in

Yeah I know what you mean, wish there was someone local to me who could do the re-trim!!

why dont you get the full set from z center and try it your self?? thats what im gooing to do when i have the time and money :)

The zed is hard enough to get in and out of without having the high sides of a bucket seat ;) My S13 had buckets and it was more than embarrasing falling out of the thing due to the stupid position you have to get your body into to get out or in. Even worse in a Z....

lol!!! i had the same problem with my fiat coop. Mine had really high leg surports, watching the mrs trying to get out was a laugh and if you was on a slight incline it was so funny :D

Plus with the subframe on it rased the seat a litte and ruined the driving position, it wasnt the best to sart off with, but when they were fitted it felt like a van :mac1:

I think the only seats I'd really replace the standard ones with, would be 350Z seats. About the only thing I like about the Z33 are the front seats.

They have a defined bolster/centre split like the Z32 seats, but look at bit more modern. If I was having the interior totally professionally re-trimmed, I would have gone for Z33 front seat.

I have a pair of Cobra Imola FIA bucket seats, but thats becuase I need them for their weight loss and extra support & safety in competion.....if the car is to be used solely for the road I would stick to retrimmed stock seats.

do you think they would bolt straight in?? and what about the height? could runin the driving position that the 32 has

Z33 has similar driving position and cabin height dimensions. Least it felt similar when I drove one. Not sure whether they'd bolt in. But not many after market seats bolt straight in anyway. Usually there's some sort of modification that has to be made to the seat frame.

Fitting aftermarket seats is a PITA !
Bloody hell, good news all round then, re-trim is a PITA too!!

Here we go....not the colour scheme I would have gone for, but they fit...

I've got some after market seats to fit so i took the old electric subframe off thinking a ten minute job to bolt the new ones on. :nono: Not as easy as it looks and definatley needs some kind of bracket welding. So sub frame back on and left for a rainy day LOL.

I also have the brand new Civic type R which has beautiful seats in alcantera but what a PITA to get in and out.Already split the crotch of one pair of kek's

I like the standard 300ZX seats - they are comfortable and supportive.

Therefore I'd never replace them with aftermarket items (plus I like the electric adjustment) so I'd always go for the re-trim option.

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
