Looking At A Mitsubishi Galant Tt On An M Plate Does Anyone Know Anything About Them Or Owned One??

Its A 2litre Twin Turbo Not Sure If Its The Old Vr4????

Any Ideas????

Have driven one but it was a later model, nice looking motor is the galant! great road presence!

Japanese build quality/comfort etc. However a new transmission will set you back £1500 IIRC and the one i driven pulled me in to a ditch under accleration, that could be down to poor suspension though? or just evil torque steer. Just drive one and see how you go. Gut instinct will tell you to walk away, Same with any turbo car its always good to see full history and if mileage is high turbo units have been re-conditioned. So full SH is vital with any turbo car Especially complex cars like the 300zx/gto/vr4.

I've done a day at Castle Combe and an airfield day where a Mitsi Gallant Vr4 estate thingy was the fastest car there. That was including skylines, Zeds, etc. Very good cars, 300bhp I believe? 4wd is gay though IMO :)

if its a 2.5 tt then it will either be 260bhp on a autobox or 280 bhp on the manual box, gearbox is one of the best autos that was available at the time called invecsII and is tiptronic with a driver learning function and the car is equiped with active yaw control which first raised its head in the evo4 , i have to admit i love these cars and even now think about changeing the Z for one, the 4wd is rear orientated with a rear biased split during most driving until the yaw control decides the front needs a bit more but is always rear biased.

iv owned a galant and to this day. Id rather have one than any bmw or german car. And would never turn down a mint vr4. That said when things go wrong, just like the z it becomes expensive, especially transmissions/drivetrain.
