Which Tracker system?

I'm looking into getting one fitted.

Are they all the same as far as the police go or should I be looking for something specific?

Which are the best/cheapest etc as some have quite high subscription charges.

I've got a Cat1 alarm/imobiliser but think it may be worth getting one now my bodykit etc is going on.

RAC one works with GPS. This means if is in a garage or even in with avenue the large trees blocking the view of the sky this could then make the GPS not work. However the whole of the country is covered.

Traker, or what ever its called, work using radio/micro waves simalar to mobile phones. On the plus side it can still be found while in a garage or built up areas but the whole country is not covered. Like same areas you cant get a moblie signal.

Infact I think they actually use mobile signals and masts.

I got a Tracker Monitor fitted so that I don't have to advise them that the car is stolen. Their site shows costs for fitting and subscription options. http://www.tracker-network.co.uk/

Tracker works by transmitting a radio signal unique to your car. This signal is picked up by Police cars, helicopters, tracker engineers, ports, docks, service stations etc. The signal strength is dependant on the area but averages about 12-20 miles. They are accurate enough to be picked out from a row of lock ups, so better than the GPS based ones as they work anywhere.

Give me a call for a fitted price.

PS they cover the whole of the UK but not Europe

I have to fit one of the following:-

1 Asset Assured Phantom

2 RAC Trackstar - Protector or Guardian

3 Tracker - Monitor or Horizon

4 Siemens Trakbak or LI

Any prices on those???

Leigh

tracker Monitor £380.00

tracker Horizon £625.00 (these are basically the monitor with a GPS unit (crap)

Both are £99.00 a year or a one off payment of £299.00

Doesn't stop it being put on the back of a truck though.

I've got a snap-off on order but it's taking months.

Bit of a drag going to the pub or shopping or something with a steering wheel in your back pocket though. biggrin.gif
