They're all good cars, but as always all have their fair share of problems.

The ones you have listed are really at the bottom of the price ladder, so I don't need to state the obvious and tell you to beware.

I own a manual Gto and find it fantastic, but I paid very good money for it 6 years ago. I have had absolutely no problems with it (Touching wood :D ) The auto versions suffer terribly with autobox problems by the way.

I owned a Gt4 many years ago and found it excellent, but they are getting old and many have fallen into the hands of the "boy racers" now.

Soarer- good car, never owned one but many seem to have been looked after.

Prelude - Never ownded one but many of my friends have, they said that it was a great, reliable car.

300 - I'm not going there, especially on here. You'll get enough comments on that one. All I'll say is that they too are a fantastic car. I love mine and it's been faultless.

Sorry to add that on there, but I hope I've given you some help.

Ade.

Gt4 and the Prelude are looking a bit old now.

So for me it would have to be the 300, lexus, gto

i had a gto park next to me the other day and it looks nothing next to the zx, it looked to high and all squashed, he had 18" alloys on and they still looked lost in those silly arches

I was a massive fan untill then :(

just be carefull with the amounts of money you are looking to spend, make sure you dont buy a dog. Never overlook things like history, mileage etc.

tbh if you want a daily drive go for the prelude

regards,

alex

front wheel drive bah!

Get an manual na mk3 supra

Might take a little searching but I love mine, and it was mega fun on the frost this morning!

None of them.

Your trying to pay Fiesta money for decient cars. All your doing is buying trouble.

I agree!

I loved my GTO TT. Probably one of the best cars I've ever owned. We have a Soarer TT on the drive now and that is more comfortable than the GTO but less brutal. The GTO had more 'oomph' and would get much more attention. The Soarer (I had a Soarer 4ltr Active and my wife has a TT) is great if you want a powerful four seater but I much preferred the GTO.

Best compromise between the two is undoutedly the 300. If you want a real killer then I'd include an Aristo in the mix.

Depends what you want from the car

- Celica GT4 - is the fastest and most sporty option, well built and reliable too.

- Soarer - is big fat luxury. Good build quality and reliablity.

- Zed - is decent sports tourers in NA auto form

- GTO - is also a decent sports tourer but more of a lard arse and even more of a pig to work on than the Zed and im not keen on its plasticky interior or exterior.

- Prelude - I dont have much of an opinion on the Prelude, supposed to be a decent car though.

None of them.

Wise, true words there...........

.............better buy an old Fiesta for that kind of money. You get what you pay for :nono:

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Not to turn the coin but you can pay decent money for a car thats been looked after and has a service history etc loads spent on it but with the new owner its unreliable and costs him/her a fortune to fix.

I'd say with most cars its luck, even with new ones you can buy a Friday or Monday car thats a pile of shite. Maybee something that should go in favour of buying a cheaper car like that is if the new owner is able to work on the car theirself and not rely on a garage then i'd say take a chance and buy one. If u are not handy with cars then i'd say avoid at all cost as they will burn a hole in your pocket if u need to take it to the garage to get this, that and the next thing repaired.

My last point is that if you buy the car and it turns out to be that bad, break it and get yer money back, kinda sad to say but most of the cars on the list will prob be worth more in bits and with the power of ebay then you have a global market for parts. I have found that out breaking a 300 TT but then there is the place to store it and the parts etc, so lots of pro's and cons for and against buying one of the cars.

Celica GT4 for me, had one that my father in law has now, thats 6 years in the family and he has spent next to fook all on it apart from general maintenance/belts etc, and is going to sell soon, well I might end up with it as it needs painted and he will get fook all trading it in.

My 2p's worth.

Cheers John

Definatly GT4 over prelude imo.

4WD vs FWD and turbo tunablity.

I had a 92 ST185 GT4 several years back. The Imports are about 225hp standard and pretty easy/cheap to get closer to 300hp

i had a prelude, before my zx a 23,4ws have to say very good car,and if you get a chance of a v,tec i would seriously think about it because those engines are great.

What ever you get you wont be happy with it..... Z everytime less you want a motorway bruiser, then the Lexus GS300 or Aristo which is basically the same but turbo charged :hyper:
