Anyone know where I can get EGR blanking plates for the plenum? I'm installing Smithy/Leon headers with no EGR hook up so the EGR must go. Z1 has them in stock for $45 but it will cost another $40 for shipping. I know a few people have made their own, maybe someone made a couple extra or would be willing to machine a few. Failing that, do any local traders carry the 300 degree kit?

If you have access to a welder cut the flanges off and pool weld the holes up as i always do.If you prepped them im sure a garage would do it for a drink.If you post them to me i will do it for you if you like?.

small trick I always use: cut of the flanges of the old EGR pipes, then put a small coin large enough to cover the holes in the plenum (eg. a 5 eurocent coin), put some sealant on the coin, bolt the old flanges back on, so they're holding the coin into place...done :)

I made a couple of plates made of 3mm thick aluminium and used a smear of gasket sealer using the original flange as a template .

It,s at the other end i used a coin to blank the hole left in the exhaust manifold , cut the pipe to remove the nut , drop a 5 pence piece in the hole and re-fit the nut , works a treat as a blanking plug :dance: :dance:

OK, removed the passenger side EGR feed from the plenum today. Dont think I will be happy with the coin trick, will make up some blank plates at work tomorrow.

Made my own blanking plates to cover the holes in the plenum. Pretty rough job as I worked some flat steel stock using a jig saw, grinder, and file. Not pretty but did the job and cost nothing... Removed and plugged all the various vacuum lines but left the egr unit on the back of the engine as I couldn't get my fat hands in there. Hard to say if it changed the way the engine ran as I did the manifolds, full exhaust system, AIV, and Apexi filter at the same time.
