I'm trying to change the steering rack gator today but the track rod end to get it off does not want to shift, tried penetrating spray and heat.....

pain in the ass when these things are stuck and the only thing that really works is heat or ive cut them off in the past with a angle grinder being carefull not to damage the threads by cutting down the length till your about 2-3mm short of going all the way and then it normally turns of with a large pipe wrench

It was just well seized I think fellas.... lots more heat, lube and hammering got it off in the end :dance:

heat it up it will come off undo the nut first and use a spanner on the flats on the rod did mine this way cos it was a pig but used a blow torch and

worked a treat

Am I right in thinking it is a tapered joint, if u strike it quickly on the main joint it shocks it into coming apart!
