Morning all

Got a Outer HICAS ball joint/bushe and a front steering rack gator, both on the nearside to change for the MOT. Can anyone tell me how difficult these jobs are?? maybe a rough idea of timescales??

Cheers Chris

not sure about the rear bush, never done 1. but the rack gaitor is easy, simply take off the wheel and trackrod end (19mm socket and 22mm spanner) i think, lol, the gaitor should have a twisted piece of wire or cabble ties on each end, just cut them off and replace, then do this in reverse, hope this helps

just make sure when you take the rod of to either leave some tipex on the thread so your alignment is that off what it was before or near as damm it.

or count the turns, which ever is easier for ya

Well at least one of um sounds easy enough :hyper: cold out, don't want to be outside under the car for too long lol...

Just the rear bushe to go then... anyone??

yup ive got both hicas bushes to do, car is floating and bouncing all over the road at the moment, andy duff gave me a link on how to do this easier, will try and find it

might need to have a look at that myself Alan, its either that or the tyre pressures need doing.

no expense is spared when it comes to his ZED though mate

I recently had my near side HICAS steering joint replaced.

I bought the part from MJP - I think it was around £36 and my local garage (not a Z specialist) charged me £96 to fit it - I guess that's 2 hours labour......

Richard :)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
