The Dance

By

Mark Renner

Beware, Take heed

This contrivance, this entity is starting to Breath

Know what risk this line invoke

When alluring sparks do dance and smoke

As passions charge the closing space

To overcome ungainly grace

Seeking souls take natures heed

The first of lustful breaths to feed

Then with grinning joy a fool to gladly wear

The flesh weakens and logic despair

While reverent hands greet yearning bodies touch

To revel there on in and gorge loves tasteful odours much

Rhythm sweep in twisted writhing fires fly

Till twitching sinews and freckled nerves calmly lie

All completeness as aching bodies pleasure run

Now feel the dance, has life begun

A dream then it is no more for I have danced this dance before

And mourned and born it's painful passing

Therein lies its danger, beauty it's pleasure

It's push and pull, pain and hurt in equal measure.

Hey well done buddy.

Your a poet and you know it.

Was going to point out your spelling mistake but i'll leave that for someone else.

Darrell

nice one mark, I never would have guessed there was a poet in the club!

Ive got absolutely no idea what that means  but well done anyway.

Im with you on that one... but it must be good if you won :D

 well done you

very good, think this represents the "act" and the atual time of conception of a new life ;) or ime just talking shite as usual

Lol - just cracking on, like, just cracking on.

It's good Mark. Very evocative. And going to the States to get an award is most impressive. Nice one.

iv read it a few times now and it becomes clearer the more i read it... i am far from a man who knows his poetry but that is good chap...

send it off to strictly come dancing :D then again, reading into it further, the peom can have many meanings? like the dance being a dance of love... ie sex for the first time? or the highs and lows of your first zed experiences and now you know all to come for your new zeds?...

...i know what i mean lol!

Ewwww, culture... Nice job college boy!

That's excellent Mark, especially like the 3rd and 4th paragraphs , so much passion and expression there
