Stremnaya road (Road of Death)

 

In the country of Bolivia is a truly amazing road carved into the side of a cliff. Stremnaya road is called the road of death.

 

 

 

Yungas Road:

 

This is another road of death. One of the most dangerous roads. Whoa! Don’t fall off!

 

 

 

 

Err what happens if your going towards the truck.. no room to move over :confused:

If you get stuck there then you are not coming out any time soon.

 

This is the official federal-government highway to Yakutsk, and it is also the only one to get there. As there are no other roads, the intrepid motorists are doomed to wallow in this dirt, or wait in week-long 100 km car line-ups (they say women even gave birth there while waiting).

That hiking trail in China made me feel queasy just sitting here. Imagine if one of those little wooden platforms gave out. Gives you the willies just thinking about it.

LOL - I was just thinking the same thing :eek: and I don't generally mind heights as a rule :confused:

When I lived in Thailand we went to the bridge over the river kwai. it looked like this, there were people walking over it and riding scooters and allsorts. If the train cae you had to climb out onto the girders to let it pass. I was 11 at the time and remember absolutely bricking it.

and they classified it as THE BEST ROAD,..... :bow:

 

I agree with them, its amazing,

 

but not recommended in the winter.
