Looking for a plate for the works bus, anyone know the cheapest place as the same plate comes up on different sites with a big difference in price.

DVLA direct seems cheapest at the mo, any others,

DVLA is your best bet if the reg you are after hasnt been issued yet, but if its already been issued it will probably be in the hands of one of the registration firms that tend to have very little stock, they just sell customers registrations on a commission basis, so if not buying from DVLA then maybe try the ads in the auto trader etc.

 

If you want to buy a cheap plate ive got TAZ 1824 for sale at about £250 including transfer fee (£80)

Try the Auto trader,there are loads and some of the Irish plates are real cheap.

Thanks, i`m after a specific plate. I want C4R TV so it looks like CAR TV. It`s gone so might have to do with G4R TV and a well placed screw!

Have you tried C19R TV ? It wont look quite as good but it will be cheaper. I wanted B4RKS but that was £2K so B19RKS at £400 was a bargain. For an 'A' also try 17, 9 and 11 mis-spaced correctly it can look just as good and the good thing that mis spacing reg plates is non endorsable. So you get a fine and no points. So if the reg costs you a grand less and you get a couple of £30 fines your onto a winner!! Howevever the DVLA can revoke your plate if you repeatedly get caught mis representing it, having said that ive been caught for it many times and had several letters from DVLA telling me off and ive still got mine!
