Im a bit accident prone, but have usually got away with it.

But today was way too close a miss for me.

Whilst at work, go to my van and get out an adjustible hole cutter, basically has a drill as the centre and a metal arm that can be moved to cut a perfect hole in wood, plaster etc. as i put the cutter in the chuck of my cordless drill, just tightening up the safety guard, the drill slips onto the tool box,

A MILLION to one chance, the button you press to run the drill, hits the top of a screwdriver and WALLOP, the drill kicks into full speed and decides to have a go at my thumb too. I grab hold of my thumb and say words like, ouch and dash that hurt. As inspect to see how bad it is, i open up the cut and see my thumb bone. NOT GOOD STUPOT,

Off to hopsital, and 5 stiches later and a tetnus. My fooking thumb looks like something out of atom and jerry cartoon.

Nurse said if it was 10mm further, it would be bye bye thumb. And its on my left hand....................

I always thought you could go blind playing with your tool. No one ever said you could lose your thumb.

I am glad you didnt do any permanent damage Stu. But sorry I did have a little chuckle as I read it mate. Especially at the choice of words. I bet a pound on a penny that wasn't a true account of what you acctually said....was it? ;)

Cant repeat the real words on here, as the mods would get involved, but lets just say it was a bit worse than ouch. lol

  see we have a few closset Dr lecters in the house

well if your going to tell us all how youve injured yourself, you at least got to show off the battle scars!

my boss once was talking to his bro while copping wood on the chop saw and without looking his hand was under the blade (still talking) he started to bring the saw down and i swithed the socket off just in time

The blade was only about an inch away. That would of been a bloody mess

Once he realized he went white as a sheet lol!!

Good for me as we finished an 1hr early and i got free pints all night :nana2:

seen a few nasty things on the sites :hurl:
