i have already tried under faq and search, and cant find definitive ans following a discussion on a forum over here, about tt engines (not zs) and when the turbos kick in, most seem to be saying 1st turbo 2-3000rmp and second turbo at about 5000rpms, i thought on the z they both kick in together, can anyone put me straight please

they do as far as i know

they do on our engines. I've also heard people saying about have turbos kicking in at different rev's. Surely for that to happen, they would need to be connected to each other....rather than both being directly supplied from the engine.

the opposite mate - the Z ones are connected to eachother (in essence) via the balance bar at the back of the engine bay. for them to be sequential theyd have to be seperate.

2 identical 3 cylinder turbo motors connected by a common crank :D

hi mate im sure you will find the poopras are in fact twin sequential (you have two different size turbos both running from all 6 cylinders ) but the exhaust is diverted by a flap . this drives the smaller turbo upto around 2500 rpm then the flap moves and diverts the exhaust from driving the smaller turbo to the bigger turbo , then the larger tubo gives boost above 2500 rpm upto around 5500 rpm , so you get a nice wide power band , you can mess around with this diverter flap and lock it so that both turbos are driven at the same time to give a bigger (but narrowerer powwer band) our engines drive each turb from three cylinders and they give there boost at the same time this together with the variable cam timming and the long intake runners gives a nice wide power band too :hyper: :hyper:

I think RX7's are sequential too in their stock setup. Some ppl junk this idea and go parallell twin (like the Z).

alot actually just dump the twin altogether and go for a single big tubby, lots of lag but a big kick ;)
