sticky oil pressure gauge

I know you are all going to say the stock oil pressure gauge is buttons dont worry about it and i am not as i have an aftermarket gauge too but it is a nice to have and it is good to have everything working especilly when i come to sell it.

since my last oil change i noticed that the oil gauge is slow to respond and even more accurate than ever and struggles to show higher pressures. At one point it was actually reversed (going up when the oil pressure was going down and visa versa) but this was solved by the old electrical fix of turning off and turning on again.

Have i knocked something when doing the oil change? where does the sensor sit? anyone ever experienced similar problems?
