What do people think would go better with a modified 300ZX, a carbon rear GT style spoiler or simply an aftermarket high level rear spoiler? I'm at the stage where I need to decide sharpish but can't quite make up my mind!!

Would love to Poll this one!!

Lee, neither. IMHO GT type ironing board spoilers look utter gash mate. You've just built yourself a sweet looking Z, please don't ruin it with one of those. I'm not the biggest fan of high level spoilers as I just don't find they suit the smooth roofline and tailgate of the Z, they suit wide arch Zs though. I'd sooner go smooth. I think the only higher level type spoiler that suits the Z is the Bomex twin level spoiler.

Carbon fibre 99-spec... ;) although I'd paint it...

Although if I think I had yours, then I'd be going for the smooth lip spoiler. But you've had your tailgate painted already. Shame. Zcentre do a low level spoiler which might look quite nice.

Dont go smooth!! It just makes it look like you forgot to finish the job off lol

The 99-spec looks too short i think (theres something not quite right about it anyway)

I quite like the Viper spoiler though, not too big, just right imho

A GT style spoiler would be suitable for a Track orientated car (unfortunately there are too many people fitting them as styling accessories to there blinged up road cars).

Im probably going to alternate between a 99spec for the road and a GT wing for the track.

I'm really starting to fall in love with the ducks arse type spoilers and I hated them at first.

The Gt wing like Dave said is ideal for the track, but if you have one the performance of the car better back it up or you'll look like a dick

it has to be down to your choice mate, personaly the smaller the wing the better.

anthing even remotly "race" or "fast and furious" oriented then it looks total sheet.

If your going to be racing it on the track, then it looks right, but only on the track.

Thx guys I also agree that the smooth look is hard to pull off, I think very few ZX's look right like that... I know what you mean Si about GT wings looking OTT and gash but the car will have near on 500 BHP ATW when it's finished it's final tune so it actually needs to have a fairly hefty spoiler!!... I do like the Viper as well, I think that would suit nicely... BTW i've only had one ZX with a carbon wing and that was the 97 purple one, I thought it looked ok on that?

 I agree....although not entirely sure they'd suit a 2+2 with it's longer shape?

Although i've got a high level rear wing thinking of maybe taking it off in the future... Like Si said smooth has gotta look better than the GT wing... Reasons for me taking mine off are wanna minimise drag and prob gain a little better fuel consumption! Although i'm sure my Z would look naked without it's rear wing, like walking round without your underpants on!

Perhaps it worked better on this car because of the blown rear arches I don't know??

Sorry Lee, but although thats a nice car, that spoiler is soooooooooooooo ugly.

Yeah I think it's one of those, either you like it or you hate it... decisions decisions!! i'm beginning to think that perhaps the GT wing isn't the way to go on this car ;)

Perhaps something like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NISSAN-300ZX-SPOILER-WITH-BRAKE-LIGHT_W0QQitemZ260185661125QQihZ016QQcategoryZ72209QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
