not me, my mum

got a phone call today saying that my mum had been took to hospital with suspected heart failure, scared the fookin shite out of me, she has a dodgy ticker anyway but to hear that on the phone knock's you for six, been up the hospital today and its a problem with the left side of her heart, they aint ruling heart failure out but its not as bad as first thought, they may be able to controll or repair (with surgery) or it may not be failure at all but something else, we are waiting for results, she is fully conciuos and ok (early stages)

first time in years ive let my gaurd down and actually shed tear's, had to go and sit in the works an and compose myself, still quite shocked, you take it for granted that they are hear, but things like this put life in perspective :(

she is back in again, cant fookin believe it, same symptoms as before and this time they have changed their minds again and now they dont have a clue what is causing all the problems

she was once told by a doc that she had a hole in the heart, then she didnt, then she did, and now thier is a possibilty, she ispissed off and is down in the dumps, i feel like going back to the hospitla ad demanding a second opinion, wish i could afford private health care, im sure they would find out what is wrong then

fingers crossed for you all I remeber a few years back NHS heart care is actually better than private. Private was better for hip operations etc .she's in the best place dude

Chin up fella, she sounds like a fighter !:) Keep her spirits up.

She is in the best place, and if you were in the States, the bills would be spiralling all the time !

When she does get out and recovers, make the most of your time together.

Wish I had did things a little different !

Wee break up in Scotland would cheer her up ?;)

Alan...........

not really, but they kick you out of hospital these days, she has low oxygrn in her blood, they are hoping this new type of nebulizer will improve things

they are a bit pushy with the beds fingers and everything crossed for you both. My mums got one of these lifeline things supply(at a monthly rate about £15) by the council its a keyfob type thing that is connected wireless to her phone. If she feels poorly in an emergency she presses it then it dials out to 3 numbers of choice, in this case my sister, my niece then me as they live 3 doors down and 2 streets away in that order to let us know to come to help. It there is no answer it goes to the emergeny center and dials for an ambulance. It has been invaluble she is diabetic and has angina she only uses it if she has to and has saved her more problems a few times gives my mum her independence and us a piece of mind

hopefully this new nebulizer will sort thigs out, problem is, she more or less lives in her static caravan, hich is about 30 miles from me, luckily she has lots of friends there who look put for her

i try and makeher feel better by joking, but you can see it is affecting her, will spend a bit more time with me mam and cheer her up

cheers bri, i hope so, im a bit upset ATM, but trying not to let it worry me as i know she will be fine

my mum and dad had a static caravan in mommouth near here a good few years ago my mum used to love it there in the summer she was never home :)

Sorry to hear your news Stella.

I know how you feel - my dad has suffered a few heart attacks in his time and lived to tell the tale.

He now has a pacemaker fitted following a triple by-pass op some years back but it has saved his life. I remember (when I lived at home) returning from work to see him being loaded into an ambulance, tubes and wires everywhere, thinking I would never see him alive again. He was only in his late-50s at the time too.

2 years ago I shed an emotional tear in private with him as he celebrated his 70th birthday - because neither of us thought he would make it that far.

What I'm trying to say, is that there is always hope. I hope your mum pulls through mate.

All the best,

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

she will pull through, it ATM aint life threatning, but could lead to future probs, just when you see ya mother hooked upto all kinds of machines tubes and wires, it scares the shite out of you

Hope it all works out for you stella, your mum is better off at home

anyway, no bugs to catch from the hospital.

My mrs's gramp admitted himself to hospital 5 weeks ago with stomach

pains, nothing else.

He died from c-diff 4 weeks later, was cremated on thursday.
