hi i have bought some down pipes and de cats off a friend for my twin turbo lwb and i have looked under the car and there are two silver wires and two littler pipes (like lamba sensers ) i think goin to the standard down pipes.. the decats dont have places for these to go to so what do i do with them?

 

will i get any engine check lights on by removing the cats?

sound like the 02 sensors mate. he replacement downpipes shoud have threaded holes for them.

are right ...... i have not recieved the down pipes yet but my friend i bought them off cant remember if they had the hole 4 them....... i shall check this out......

Are these the 2 braided steel wires that come from the ducting to the exhaust pipes just after the gear box. If so then you just cut them as the are to do with your emissions rubbish. The Lambas fit into the down pipes and must be retained.

You'll feel the difference though you will loose a little low end torque. It will rev more freely and they estimate between 15 and 25 RWHP which is quite a kick.

sorry got mixed up with lamba sesnors r these in the back of the turbo elbows? the tubes i'm thinking of r the egr (exhaust gas regulators) what do i do with these?

Ideally the EGR valve wants removing and the boss on the manifold blocking off, but for now just block the pipes off. As the other is a plenum off job. Duffer recon's that the 22mm Yorkshire fitting pipe end stops fit in and that the solder seam keeps it air tight once the collors are tweeked tight.

Yes just blocking off will work perminantly. Just if you get the plenum off then you can block it off from the manifold and remove all the valves and pipes and rubbish that sits in the wheel arches and back of engine. There is a fair bit of weight there.
