Hey, i noticed today that there was quite a bit of water under my car. i checked under and noticed that there was a pipe which looked like it was a drain and it was dripping water. it was at the back of the engine on the passenger side and came through the bulkhead. i have checked through the forums and it seems to be the air con draining pipe which realease water from the air con.

As it is now november i dont use the air con and havent used it in quite a while so i was wondering why this pipe would be draining water and if it is going to be a problem and should i do something about it. i have had the car about 5 months or more and never noticed this before. it is not a problem with the pipe as it looks like it is desgined to release water.

Cheers Kyle

That water should only be condensation and only if the a/c is running. If it is anything else (other than rain getting through somewhere) then you probably have a leak from the cooling system !

if it was a leak from the cooling system would it still be coming through the draining pipe, cause when i looked it is definately coming from the pipe no where else. this is why i wondered if it was a problem or not and would the air con still condense if it not used??

have you tried the aircon, does it still work? have you checked coolant level?

you should always run the aircon regularly even in winter ( as demister )
