Still got a missfire on my N/A.

Its the cylinder at the far back right hand side, under the balance bar thing and pipes..

With my limited knoledge i darent try and remove these to get to the coilpack etc, I have managed to get the connector off the coilpack/injector and give em a clean, but to no avail.

So.. Ive got it booked into a local garage :x: for him to take a look at it.

Im hoping it might just be the coilpack or sparkplug.

What else could it be? Dead injector?

If it was say a Dead injector how much am I looking at for getting it fixed at £30 an hour?

Cheers

Pete

It's really easy to remove the balance bar - just 4 bolts holding it on... vaccum pipes just slide off. It would be worth doing this just to swap coilpacks round to eliminate a dead one & to check the condition of the spark plug.

Would I need to just undo it at one end then to get to the coilpack? So theres no fuel pipes I could accidently undo or anything?

Also if i do manage to do this and swap the coilpack, would i need to put the balancebar/pipes etc back before starting it to see if it fixed it?

Is there a guide or anything anywhere to taking this off?

Cheers

Pete.

You can undo the balance far and fold it back with all the cables and tubes attached. Then you can get to the coil pack.

Removing an injector will mean removing the plenum - a decent days work to remove and replace I'd have thought.

Well managed to change the coilpack but still no Joy...

I dont have the tools to take the spark plug out so I couldnt look at that..

If its not the spark plug whats the next likely thing it could be? Dead injector?

I am far from being a mech, but i am having a misfiring prob myself at the moment, my mech has just found that there is oil leaking into the hole where the spark plug goes and it might be causing my plug to short - thus misfiring. Only a thought. :)

That sounds expensive?

My mech is no zed expert, but he says the plenum will have to come off and then the seals can be replaced. Who knows, i'll just take it one step at a time. :(

I,ve just had the same happen to mine on the same plug , swapped the coil pack and plug and it ran fine again , two days later the same thing happened  so i thought it must be a broken wire on the coil pack plug .

When i thought back to the first time when we took the plug out i remembered it was dry so today i moved the wires to the injector plug and hey presto it was running on six , too the plug off expecting to find a broken wire but no the injector terminals were green :headvswal cleaned em up and she,s purring again now :hyper: :hyper:

Don,t ya just love it when a job turns out to be easier than you thought it was gonna be
