Guys, I seemt o be leaking coolant... but only when the engine is running and has warmed up.

run for 20mins or so, its a dribble... more than 30 mins and it can dump its load a lot quicker.

it appears to be coming out right at the back of the engine bay in the centre of the car.

thanks (as always) to the bay of the zed and my rather large belleh i cant find the leak yet.

Any ideas what i should be looking for?? im guessing its the return hose from the heater matrix (once back in the bay) thats at fault... what else could be looking coolant at the back of the engine??

Carperts etc in the car are fine, so its not that far back (thank goodness) :)

i had this problem a couple of months ago. it could be 1 of the 10mm water pipes right at the back, however it aint easy to get to it took me 9 hours just for 1 pipe it is do-able but you need a s**t load of paitents. you need a ramp to do it properly, push your arm between the bell housing and the down pipe on the passenger side of the car (from underneath the car) and you should feel a pipe about 4" long thats propably the 1. the reason it only leaks at certain times is cos the pipe will have a split in it and the water system builds up pressure the it will release the water, someone should have a picture of the back of an engine, thats how i figured out how to do mine i've got a draw full of them.

agree with the above.

If you can borrow a coolant pressure tester (basically a bicycle pump with a pressure gauge on it that has an attachment to fit where your rad cap should be so you can artifically pressure up your coolant system without running) from your local garage it might help you identify where your leak is coming from when you are under the car.

It might be coming from the notorious coolant feed to the throttle bodies that can be done away with with a bypass. There are plenty of write-ups on here.

just found the pictures on my old post either ask (markzx) or (greg) or if you go into my profile and find all threads started by me its there with a title of water leak all the pipes you need are pictured. hope this helps.

As said above, its most likely the little small turbo coolant hose. Right bitch to get to.
