The Queens Head is situated some six miles from the nearest town in the very picturesque village of Burley, on the edge of the New Forest. We are a country pub with country ways attracting clientele who enjoy seeing the wildlife and variety of animals in the surrounding fields. These include deer, ponies, cows and donkeys. The pub dates back to 1645 and is rumoured to be an old smugglers haunt. This was reinforced when, during a refurbishment, treasures like old pistols, coins and bottles were uncovered here. There is also an alleged underground tunnel running between Burley Manor public house and this one. The front of the building has never been changed and inside has retained original features from at least 100 years ago. With alcoves, nooks and crannies, you can hide away and enjoy a quiet drink or meal. Meals can be enjoyed in the restaurant or outside in the garden during the summer months. There is a range of wines to choose from to complement your meal or a good selection of real ales if you prefer. This is a lovely old pub frequented by really friendly local characters and passers by alike. Next time you are in the area call in and receive a special welcome at the Queens Head.

Hmmmmmmm, £17 steaks and :xxx: 'enry's, maybe it's a good job I couldn't make it then!!

Queens Head sounds good - Greene King :duffer: , doubt me and Ned would be up for a week-end though, have to see how things go, but as it's the last meet before Chrimbo/New Year it'd be good to catch up with everyone.

Cheers,

Steve

Would like to attent a meet, just need long enough to get the time off, and have the money it fill up the tank LOL!

athene if you are serious about the queens head phone in advance and see if we can get a car park. they have a few LOL. Might have to pay a couple of quid but should be our own private one . but do ask.
