When you remove the the trim panels either side of the rear seat there are two square shaped holes roughly 5x4 cut into the shell. there seems to be a decent bit of room behind them for acoustics. I was finishing my retrim yesterday and starting to get ideas of what type of speaker i could fit in there. Has anyone tried it and with what results? Neither the front nor rear stock speaker setup provide decent bass, no matter what type of speakers you put in.

I was thinking of putting bass speakers in there, so i wouldnt have to resort to cutting the trim panels . i've got decent components in the front, jbl's in the rear and a very good pioneer head unit.

I have a bass tube and amp in the boot to compensate, but hate the look of it. If there was a way of getting a deep bass into the z without a bootbuild i'd love to hear of it

Cheers

I was thinking about fitting some speakers in those trim panels but didn't know what behind them.

Ah, nice and subtle eh?

Yeah no pretty i gotta admit. Im sure with a better selection of speakers it could be neater.

oh... that's a shame, sounds and looks a really good place to fit some speakers but i'm put off now. booo...... :(

lol yep but not so big . he has just cut into the trim which i don't want to. The other pic is much tidier. if there is a way of getting bass into the holes behind the trim, screw directly to the body i think would be better.

I have always liked this idea.. Like the way they have done this.

There you go, that's better.

What size speaker is that one?

Chewie i think you would have to cut a hole in the panel. surely if not when screwing straight into it it would puka up and put the panel out of shape.
