I have decided to get my new zed in mint condition, so I spent some time with my local bodyshop over the weekend.

They have given me a great price for a respray in the original Gunmetal grey - but If I am getting the work done - now might be a good time to get a colour change.

I like the grey, but I also like the focus ST Orange...

What do you think?

Has to be the Orange for me, or another aftermarket colour.

Im really not a fan of the grey (sorry grey zed owners)

Mine will be standard bodywork (with the anti-chip coating removed and the rear spoiler removed) but no dodgy body kits.

Not sure if Orange suites the lines of a zed???

Hmm......... I don't know about that................ :D

come on it has to be the st orange the grey just dont look right on a zed. the orange looks great in the sun not that we get much here. :hyper:

Nope dont like it, think it looks like a boy'd up Nova to me.

At the risk of being killed by members, I dont think the Zed is special enough to pull off a colour like that.

Lambos, Zondas etc can, the zed just does not look right.

You like it really, don't you?? :D

It's a little bit too ginger for me. I'd go for a colour that's not going to age. An electric blue or something. BMW Estoril blue is very very nice.

You say that, but SI-Z has a nice example:

I like the orange when it's got a body kit.

But on a standard 300 it can look a bit much for the car. IMHO anyway.

If I could start again, mine would be Bayside blue I think with UK spec glass. I can't be bothered to have mine repainted again. lol

What is the front bumper on the blue one? and what colour blue is it?

Im actually considering changing my bayside blue to something like the Nissan Daytona blue later down the line

ABflug bumper

I think the orange looks great - having had a gun-metal 300 and 350, they do look a little "plain-jane" sometimes, apart from in really strong sunlight... (cue references to crappy English weather).

I really like that SWB one that Mark posted - I'd go for the orange, Z does share a fair few styling cues with a lambo after all; it'd certainly be a colour I'd consider for a change.

I too have always liked Blue cars - but I do think Bayside Blue et al, have all been a bit over done - Sorry Blues... just IMO, of course. :nono:

CheerZ,

JB.

Overdone? LOL, seen maybe 1 in the flesh in my entire life.

I've seen a few, Si, (note I did say "bayside et al" - not just Bayside) and I've yet to see a blue zed that really floated my boat...

I guess I was a little ambiguous, however, as I also didn't mean solely Zeds - after all , Estoril blue was the de-facto colour for an E36 M3 and there's plenty of them on the road.

Whenever someone posts a colour questions - there's always a big clamour about Bayside blue, but I don't personally thinks it's a great option. As I said, IMO...

I think it's because it's a Nissan colour that Zs never came in. I do like them, but have a real thing for silver Zs too.

If I had to start from scratch again, I'd do one of 3 OEM colours, silver, superwhite pearl (99-spec colour) or bayside blue.

One of my favourite non-Nissan colours at the moment is the pearl white the new Lexus IS models are available in. Really strong pearl in it and I've never seen a car glow in the sunlight like it. Very popular colour in the US and as much as the car the paint is on is pretty bland, I couldn't keep my eyes off the pearl white ones. Would love my Z done in that one.

Yeah - that does sound good - I must keep my eye out for it. Pearl white is a colour I've only recently come round to; now I really like it.

I think sometimes the effects in paints can be a little disappointing, for instance, I had my last 300 resprayed in Civic Type-R, black with a blue metallic fleck - it looked great when polished and on really close inspection, but it never really shone like I had hoped it would... Guess I should have tried harder to find a clean Type-R beforehand!

I really do like the idea of an orange 300, though - like that gorgeous pentroof z (extreme jeallousy). Conversely, however, I never liked the sunset colour on 350's too much, even though it was the colour Nissan chose to promote them in. I bought gunmetal for re-sale certainty, but perversely I think they look best in chilli red - which is a colour you very rarely see as it's hard to shift apparently. Strange.

CheerZ,

JB.

That looks ok to me, or dark metalic red? or how about a two tone, horizontal split will make it look longer?
