Hello everybody,

The Zed failed its MOT this morning  nothing too serious or expensive but a few little pain in the @rse jobs.

The main thing I need your help for is the passenger side headlight needs adjusting but the mechanism is FUBAR.

How can I adjust it now?

Also - where is the cheapest place to buy 4x TOYO Proxes?

Thanks guys (and girls)...

Hi Mike, you can buy new adjusters off MJP, they're only a few quid each. It's pretty normal for them not to work, the shaft spins in the little plastic gear.

Think you may have to remove the headlight to fit them though.

Thanks John, I have just been speaking to Danny. he should be able to sort these out for me. I am really not looking forward to taking the headlight out though!

Thanks James but those dimensions are too big for me.

I need 2x 235/18/40 and 2x 265/18/35.

I am going to try tyretraders.com in a moment.

Thanks for the quick responses...

i replaced my adjusters with Tamiya metal gears from a model shop... the part numbers are on here somewhere - should never break again!! They were only a few quid too...

Get Falken 452 from a falken stockist, for best price! good tyre cheaper than toyos

Let me know when you have tyres. My boy has started work at a tyre fitters in Luton so should be able to sort out getting them fitted for you.

Not sure on price though till he gets home.

Mike,

As you know the headlight adjuster gears have now been ordered and will be with me early next week.

Tyretraders.com did me a cracking deal on Toyo Proxes for my car! :)

And here is the link to remove your headlights:

I'll be in touch again when I'm about to send the parts out next week.

Have a good weekend.

thanks guys, I have made some progress today and can tick at least 2 of the 5 fail points off the list.

There is more help required though - my side lights at the front are not working. I have checked the fuse in the footwell and all looks good, I was thinking it could be the relay under the bonnet. Is this a possible cause for them to fail?

Update - I have managed to fix all of the points ready for the MOT retest on Friday except the headlight adjustment. I have finally got hold of the Tamiya gears that I need (thanks a lot to Danny).

Should have all of this fixed tomorrow arvo.

Went for a set of Falkens in the end, they have good reviews about grip and durability and they are not a bad price.

Thanks a lot to everyone for their help and support.
