RIGHT ITS ON THE LAST SUNDAY OF THE MONTH

DATE: 28TH OCTOBER 2007 (or it will never be agreed)

LOCATION: - Newlands Corner: not far from Box Hill but a great bit of road to drive on and some nice pubs on route too.

Follow the A24 from Box Hill towards Dorking, turn right just before the Esso petrol station on the right and follow the road around the back of Dorking. This will bring you on to the A25 towards Guildford, through Abinger. Newlands Corner is a car park on the top of the hill on the left after the dual carriageway.

Sounds like a good one, got loads on at the moment and "Betty's" insides are in bits at the moment - spread out across the living room floor!!! Won't put my name on the list but if we can get there we will, even if it's in the Micra

Cheers folks,

Steve and Ned

Pleeeeease don't take this as a criticism but it seems a shame we can't find a decent venue for a 'regional' meet within our own beautiful '4 counties' region (or is IOW a separate county making us a beautiful '5 counties' region?).

Never mind, I'm still looking forward to the meet, it's been a long time since IOW.

newlands corner as nice as it is does get very very busy on a sunday with ramblers, dog walkers, mountain bikers, peeps out for a stroll and of course the obligatory motorbikers so don`t be surprised if we can`t all park together and beware the 4x4 brigade who park next to you coz the t*****s really don`t give a s**t about our cars and its not unusual to find a "ping" or two in your door or 1/4 panels.

what sort of time you guys getting there as i only have a 10 minute drive ?c.f.n.

chris e boy

Righty, Chris (above) has pm'd me with some info on this Newlands place and judging by what he said up there ^, it doesnt sound too ideal, space wise etc.

So this is a pm I got from him....

right young lady there is a pub/restaurant on the road Betwixt Dorking and Redhill literally 3 mins from Box hill called the "Jolly Farmers" its a brewers fayre type place so food and drinks are guaranteed we had a 21 capri convoy run out of there last year so its deffo big enough for a some zeds now its down to you whether you want to go to newlands or merely use boxhill as its closer and is probs the better bet if there`s gonna be a few of us going and boxhill has a good cafe "rykers" there as well.

so with food and drinkies sorted its over to you hun.

and with that.... Agree'd

its probably safer to park, more space and at least we can grab a bite to eat, have a drink, chat whatever your lil hearts desire!

If its a nice day - heck we'll take a drive to this Newlands place for some snaps!

Meeting place: Jolly Farmers

Address: The Jolly Farmers, Reigate Road, Buckland. Tel: 01737 221355.

Sorry Guys........but as much as I luv you all, a 200 mile round trip for Sunday lunch is a bit too far for me so I'm going to have to back out of this meet.

Look forward to seeing you when you have a meet a bit closer to home.

Portsmouth to Hackpen and back....160miles................ :D not to mention all the meets that Scotty travels to

Seriously though Dave, I do appreciate your point, but there's always going to be someone who has to travel a long way to a meet, I think it's only fair to move the venues around so that it isn't the same members doing the extra miles every time....says the man who probably won't be able to make this meet

Catch you all later,

Steve

No worries mate, only pulling your leg!! Almost certain we won't make this meet as Betty now sounds like a tired diesel  See what happens when you start changing things (Gaz and his great ideas  ), don't think she likes the idea of having a baby seat in the back - ah, the joys of zed ownership!!

Sure you'll have a good day, hope to catch you all, including the newbies, at the November meet,

Cheers,

Steve and Ned
